The school was originally established as Uva International School in 1992 and four years later in 1996 it was named Richland International School. The present owners of Oxford International College took over the management of the school in the year 2000 with the vision of providing quality education based on religious and moral principles, while preserving national identity and Sri Lankan culture.
At the time we took over, there were around 50 students on roll in the school and the number of teachers were about eight. The general trend at the beginning was to move the children to government schools after completing the preschool education at this school. The present management had to trudge a dreary path and face numerous challenges to bring the college to the present level.
It was with the combined effort of qualified and experienced teachers dedicated and ever willing to promote, develop and nurture the talents of the pupils, that we were able to extend classes up to the G.C.E. (O/L) within a period of few years.
